What you will be doing

With the goal of meeting and exceeding the Hotel’s revenue expectations, responsibilities include soliciting new accounts, meeting group booking goals, outside sales calls to customer locations and networking event /trade show attendance. Prior hotel experience in a sales capacity is preferred.

  • Provides professional and courteous guest service at all times.
  • Makes personal sales calls.
  • Develops, creates and implements innovative sales and marketing techniques.
  • Maintains current sales database.
  • Contacts in-house guests, group leaders, and meeting planners to promote good will and foster additional and repeat business.
  • Follows up on progress of groups booked by monitoring room night pick-up, rooming lists and cut off dates with Front Office Manager.
  • Maintains good rapport with local civic groups and associations.
  • Prepares reports as requested.
  • Attends weekly sales meetings.
  • Completes projects as determined by the Director of Sales.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from 4 year college or university or one to two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proactive, knowledgeable, creative sales maximizer of appropriate business to fulfill the hotel's need dates, seasonality, patterns, or strategic objectives.
  • Self-motivator with strong time management skills and keen abilities to set and achieve priorities.
  • Strong problem solving skills, ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously, function well under pressure, delegate effectively, and ability to remain positive and constructive under stress
  • Strong knowledge of the hotel, its facilities, and its services as well as the competitions'.
  • You must be able to pass a thorough background check and drug screening.
