The Ideal Candidate for this Position

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Director of Operations serves as a senior leader responsible for all aspects of hotel operations, including Rooms and Food & Beverage. This hands-on role is charged with driving operational excellence, ensuring flawless guest experiences, and optimizing financial performance. The Director of Operations sets clear goals and accountability for both front-of-house and back-of-house departments, ensuring alignment with Marriott brand standards and company objectives.

This position plays a pivotal role in both the hotel and the community, cultivating strong relationships with local officials, business leaders, and guests to enhance the hotel’s reputation and market position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership for Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B Outlets, Banquets, Culinary, and Engineering departments.

• Establish and oversee departmental goals, ensuring alignment with property and corporate initiatives.

• Uphold Marriott brand standards and ensure compliance with all operational policies, safety regulations, and health and sanitation codes.

• Champion a guest-first culture that delivers exceptional service and drives guest satisfaction scores.

• Analyze financial and operational performance, identify trends, and implement initiatives to increase efficiency and profitability.

• Collaborate with Human Resources to attract, develop, and retain top talent, ensuring proper training, performance management, and associate engagement.

• Oversee capital improvement projects and maintenance efforts, working closely with the Engineering team.

• Act as a key advisor to the General Manager, assisting with long-range planning, budgeting, owner relations, and community engagement.

• Represent the hotel in the local community, fostering relationships that support business development and brand awareness.

Job Requirements

• 5 years experience in hotel operations management, or related professional area
• Food and Beverage Manager or Rooms related experience in full service/convention hotel
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and nights as business requires
• Strong desire to develop into a General Manager
• Strong customer relations skills and leadership capability
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skill
• Detail oriented
• Ability to make quick decisions, problem solve to achieve guest satisfaction while ensuring compliance with policy and financial standards
• Must be able to pass a background check as well as be drug free
