Lead Cook Overview:
The Lead Cook plays a vital role in the day-to-day culinary operations, with a primary focus on the preparation and execution of high-quality breakfast service, corporate lunches, and team dinners. This position is responsible for ensuring that all meals are prepared efficiently, presented attractively, and meet the organization’s standards for quality, consistency, and guest satisfaction. The Lead Cook helps maintain a well-organized and productive kitchen environment by supporting daily operations, coordinating food preparation, and ensuring that service runs smoothly during both routine meal periods and special events.
In addition to culinary execution, the Lead Cook supports the training and development of kitchen team members, providing guidance on recipes, food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and kitchen best practices. Working closely with management, this role assists with inventory management, and ordering of food and kitchen supplies to ensure the kitchen is properly stocked and prepared for daily operations. The Lead Cook also helps uphold sanitation and food safety standards, maintains organized workstations, and contributes to a positive, collaborative, and team-focused kitchen culture that promotes efficiency, accountability, and high-quality food service.

Responsibilities include:
Strong understanding of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations, and high-volume meal service.
Prepare and execute meals in a timely, professional manner while meeting service schedules and event timelines.
Ensure kitchen and prep areas are properly organized, stocked, and ready for service.
Provide guidance and support to kitchen team members during service, helping maintain efficient and coordinated operations.
Assist in training new cooks on kitchen procedures, food preparation standards, and food safety practices.
Promote consistency, teamwork, and efficiency within the culinary team through coaching and daily support.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment in accordance with all health and sanitation regulations.
Ensure proper food storage, labeling, and product rotation to maintain quality and reduce waste.
Assist with inventory monitoring, identifying shortages or discrepancies and reporting them to management.
Demonstrate strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Job Requirements:

Previous experience as a Cook or Lead Cook in a restaurant, hotel, or corporate dining environment preferred.
Strong knowledge of breakfast preparation and high-volume meal service.
A keen eye for detail, time management and great customer service skills.
Pleasant and friendly demeanor.
Able to work as a team and independently.
Flexible working hours.
Ability to work with little or no supervision while meeting high-performance standards.
Physical mobility and stamina.
Must be able to pass a background check
Ability to follow instructions.
