Position Summary:

The Breakfast Server is responsible for providing friendly, attentive, and efficient food and beverage service to guests during breakfast service. This position plays an important role in creating a positive start to each guest's day by delivering warm hospitality, maintaining a clean and welcoming dining environment, and ensuring orders are accurate and served promptly.

This is a part-time, early-morning position with weekend availability required. The ideal candidate is dependable, energetic, guest-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced full-service hotel environment.

Essential Job Responsibilities Guest Service & Hospitality
  • Greet guests promptly and warmly upon arrival and create a welcoming breakfast experience.
  • Provide attentive, professional, and personalized service in accordance with Marriott service standards.
  • Explain breakfast offerings, buffet options, and menu items as needed.
  • Answer guest questions regarding menu ingredients, preparation methods, and dietary or allergen concerns.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter orders correctly into the POS system.
  • Serve food and beverages promptly while ensuring proper presentation and order accuracy.
  • Check back with guests throughout their meal to ensure satisfaction and anticipate additional needs.
  • Respond professionally to guest concerns and involve a manager when appropriate.
  • Thank guests and provide a warm farewell at the conclusion of their dining experience.
Breakfast Operations
  • Complete assigned opening duties and ensure the restaurant is fully prepared prior to breakfast service.
  • Assist with setting tables, preparing service stations, brewing coffee, stocking supplies, and preparing the dining area for opening.
  • Maintain knowledge of breakfast menu items, buffet offerings, beverages, pricing, and hotel promotions.
  • Monitor tables throughout service and promptly clear used dishes, glassware, and silverware.
  • Assist with resetting tables quickly and properly to maintain availability during high-volume periods.
  • Assist with buffet maintenance, replenishment, and cleanliness when applicable.
  • Maintain adequate supplies of coffee, beverages, condiments, silverware, glassware, napkins, and other service items.
  • Complete assigned side work and closing responsibilities at the end of the breakfast shift.
Teamwork & Hotel Operations
  • Communicate effectively with culinary associates, hosts, bussers, managers, and other Food & Beverage team members.
  • Work closely with the kitchen to ensure accurate orders and timely service.
  • Communicate guest requests, dietary restrictions, allergies, and special needs clearly to the appropriate team members.
  • Assist coworkers during busy periods to maintain efficient service and a positive guest experience.
  • Support banquet, lounge, room service, or other Food & Beverage operations when business needs require.
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and cooperative attitude with guests and fellow associates.
Cleanliness, Safety & Standards
  • Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked dining and service areas throughout the shift.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, hygiene, and responsible service requirements.
  • Follow hotel procedures for cash handling, credit card transactions, guest checks, and POS usage.
  • Maintain professional grooming, uniform, and appearance standards.
  • Follow all hotel, Marriott, and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Immediately report safety concerns, equipment issues, guest incidents, or other operational concerns to management.
Qualifications
  • Previous restaurant, hotel, or customer service experience preferred but not required.
  • Previous breakfast service experience is a plus.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Friendly, positive, and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to multitask and remain organized during high-volume breakfast periods.
  • Dependable and punctual, particularly for early-morning shifts.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Basic ability to operate a POS system and accurately process guest transactions.
  • Must meet any applicable state or local food-service requirements.
Schedule Requirements
  • Part-time position.
  • Weekend availability is required, including Saturdays and Sundays.
  • Must be available for early-morning breakfast shifts. Weekend schedule is 5:00aa-11:00a, Weekend schedule is 6:00a-1:00p.
  • Availability on holidays may be required based on hotel occupancy and business needs.
  • Schedule may vary based on hotel occupancy, group business, conventions, and operational needs.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Ability to frequently bend, reach, carry, and lift service items.
  • Ability to carry trays containing food, beverages, dishes, and glassware.
  • Ability to lift approximately 25–30 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to work safely in restaurant, kitchen, and food-service environments.
