Guest Experience Manager

The Guest Experience Manager will create programming, specials, packages and handle all local aspects of social media. The position is hands on and requires a full time commitment to be on property during most of the year.  They will oversee and coordinate the contract workforce of programming vendors to ensure services are delivered according to Hutton Brickyards standards with assistance from the General Manager and Corporate Human Resources.  

  • An expert of the New York Hudson Valley Region and maintains close relationships with our vendors, the local attractions, restaurants, wineries, breweries, etc.
  • You will learn about and explore new experiences for our guests whether on or off property.
  • Administer and oversee payment of independent contractors such as: estheticians, massage therapists, yoga instructors and other activity providers.  Generate and oversee biweekly commission report.
  • Continual upkeep of information, written and in the Hotel Systems, regarding the vendors, activities, contact information and rate schedules.
  • Execute excellent email, departmental and pre-shift communications.
  • Communicate and arrange guest adventures and dining to appropriate teams.
  • Utilize all systems and procedures to book, schedule, plan, and design a guest itinerary.
  • Assist with guest emails, phone calls, and inquiries pertaining to upcoming guest stays.
  • Help coordinate and execute all guest requests in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with the Front Desk team about last-minute bookings, stay inclusions, and other pertinent information.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of the property and other information.
  • Make suggestions for improvements in overall department and property operations with an emphasis on increasing guest satisfaction, and revenue and reducing costs.
  • Ensure that the daily Social Media posts are being posted in order to drive guest traffic, increase revenue & broaden coverage of the property.  This will include adding photos, comments, relevant information to reach followers and potential new guests.
  • Create print promotional and marketing collateral for property as needed. 

Job Requirements

  • Experience equivalent to intermediate, or preferably advanced, user level in: Microsoft Office

  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to review written material for compliance with rules of correspondence and grammar.
  • Skilled in the use of general office equipment (i.e. copiers, fax machines, etc.).
  • Contribute to overall guest satisfaction by promptly responding to emails & phone calls.
  • Prioritize & respond to leads in a timely manner & with the correct information.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the property regarding queries, leads & events. 
  • Create, maintain, update & maintain the necessary documents & presentations to assist the Sales team in generating & tracking business leads. 
  • Maintain the events calendar for all departments including site visits, programming events, tentative holds & in-house groups.
  • Ability to excel in a diverse work environment and communicate with individuals having a wide variety of educational levels and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Ability to organize work, plan multiple activities, establish priorities, and meet deadlines with the ability to maintain a positive, professional demeanor.
  • Availability for normal business hours, with flexibility to work hours outside the typical workday based on business demands is required.
  • Applicants with prior hotel and/or hotel sales experience preferred.
