Sales Manager Overview:

We are looking for a self-motivated Sales Manager with solid leadership skills, a strong work ethic, and a drive to exceed expectations. It is also important that you have excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills as well as the ability to establish rapport with both new and existing clients. This position reports to the Director of Sale.

Your specific duties in this role will include: 

  • Prospecting and qualifying new business.
  • Producing and/or reviewing sales contracts and rate agreements.
  • Monitoring and handling inquiry calls provide client proposals in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures.
  • Working with the rest of the management team to execute sales strategies.
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of promotions, both internal and external
  • Providing positive and aggressive leadership to ensure maximum revenue potential (e.g., sets example with personal booking goals)
  • Participate in client calls to acquire new business and/or close on business.
  • Executing and supporting the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposals, writing contracts, customer correspondence, etc.)
  • Analyzing market information and implementing strategy to achieve property’s financial room and catering goals.
  • Interacting with guests to obtain feedback and reviewing guest satisfaction results to identify areas of improvement.
  • Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service.
  • Displaying leadership in guest hospitality, exemplifying customer service and creating a positive example for guest relations.
  • Developing and managing relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Interviewing hourly employees with the appropriate skills to meet the business needs of the operation.

Sales & Business Development 

  • Drive wedding sales by responding to inquiries, conducting tours, and converting leads into bookings.
  • Build and maintain relationships with wedding planners, vendors, and industry partners to generate referrals and visibility.
  • Develop and manage a pipeline of wedding prospects through platforms like The Knot, WeddingWire, and direct inquiries.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing while ensuring profitability and alignment with the property’s standards.

Client Experience & Relationship Management 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for wedding clients from inquiry through signed contract.
  • Customize proposals and packages based on client vision, budget, and property offerings.
  • Host site visits and tasting appointments, FAM stays, ensuring a personalized, high-touch experience.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with couples and planners to set expectations and provide timely updates.

Event Coordination (Pre-Sales to Handoff) 

  • Collaborate with the Events/Operations team to ensure a smooth handoff
  • Confirm details like guest counts, menus, timelines, and vendor needs to ensure clear alignment.
  • Provide accurate Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and internal notes to ensure flawless execution.
  • Troubleshoot client questions or challenges prior to event day.

Collaboration & Teamwork 

  • Partner with marketing to showcase weddings on social media, digital platforms, and styled shoots.
  • Provide feedback to culinary, banquet, and operations teams to continuously improve wedding offerings.
  • Contribute to annual forecasting and budgeting for the weddings segment.
  • Mentor and support sales coordinators or junior team members in wedding sales best practices.

Administration & Reporting 

  • Manage leads, proposals, contracts, and follow-up tasks in CRM/Tripleseat
  • Track conversion rates, revenue goals, and sales performance metrics specific to weddings.

Requirements: 

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Property and Restaurant Management, or related major; Bachelor’s degree, a plus
  • 1 2 years experience (1 year with a Bachelor’s degree) in sales and marketing, or a related professional area.
  • Solid organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills
  • Proven lead-generation and closing skills.
