Position Summary:

The Starbucks Team Lead supports the daily operations of the hotel’s licensed Starbucks outlet, ensuring the highest level of guest satisfaction, product quality, and adherence to brand standards. This position assists the Starbucks Manager with supervision of baristas, shift operations, training, and inventory control. The Team Lead acts as the shift leader when the manager is not present and plays a key role in fostering a welcoming, efficient, and service-focused environment consistent with both Marriott and Starbucks brand standards.

Job Duties + Responsibilities:

• Lead daily café operations during assigned shifts to ensure smooth and efficient service flow.

• Supervise baristas, assign workstations, and monitor performance to uphold service and beverage standards.

• Maintain compliance with all Marriott, Starbucks, and local health and safety policies.

• Perform opening and closing duties, including cash handling, safe counts, and deposit preparation.

• Ensure all equipment and work areas are clean, sanitized, and properly maintained.

• Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally.

• Deliver friendly, professional, and personalized service to every guest, ensuring a memorable Starbucks experience.

• Resolve guest issues and service challenges promptly and effectively.

• Promote featured products, loyalty programs, and upselling opportunities in alignment with property goals.

• Collaborate with hotel departments (Front Office, Banquets, Concierge) to support group and guest needs, including large orders or special requests.

• Assist in onboarding and training new baristas in Starbucks beverage preparation, POS operation, and guest service expectations.

• Provide coaching and feedback to support team performance and development.

• Serve as a role model of Marriott and Starbucks values and service culture.

• Monitor and maintain proper inventory levels; communicate supply needs to management.

• Support monthly inventory counts and ensure accurate rotation and storage of products.

• Uphold cash control procedures and reconcile discrepancies in accordance with hotel and Starbucks policies.

Candidates must also have the following qualifications:

• Must be an outgoing, positive, friendly person.
• Must be a team player.
• Excellent communication and guest service skills required.
• Must be able to work in a fast paced, high-volume environment. 
• Barista experience required. 
• Weekend availability is required.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule weekdays, weekends and holidays. 
• Must be able to stand, walk, and lift up to 30lbs for extended periods.
• You must be able to pass a thorough background check as well as be drug free.
